About this course

Application

This unit applies to those who work in operational roles.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors, and must be sourced from the relevant jurisdiction.

Jurisdiction: This is a nationally recognised qualification that qualifies you to safely operate a rigid haul truck on a construction site and can be used when applying for jobs in the civil construction and resources sector across Australia. Sites may require further training according to their standards.

Licence: You do not need a specific license to operate a rigid haul truck on-site under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011. However, where a certificate is no longer required for earth-moving activities, the PCBU has a primary duty of care duty under the Act to ensure that workers are trained and competent to do this work safely; this unit can and may be used to satisfy some of the requirements.
