Description

RIIMPO320F Conduct civil construction excavator operations

About this course

This nationally accredited short course covers the skills and knowledge required to operate excavators to lift, carry and place materials.  This unit derives from the RII30820 – Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operation

Application

This unit applies to those working in site-based roles.

Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors, and must be sourced from state jurisdictions before applying this unit.

This unit alone does not provide sufficient skill to independently load and unload equipment. To perform this activity safely, personnel must either complete or be assisted by someone who has completed the RIIHAN308F Load and Unload Plant or equivalent.

Jurisdiction: This is a nationally recognised qualification that qualifies you to safely operate a dozer and can be used when applying for jobs in the civil construction and resources sector.

Licence: You do not need a specific license to operate an excavator. However, where a certificate is no longer required for earth-moving activities, the PCBU has a primary duty of care duty under the Act to ensure that workers are trained and competent to do this work safely; this unit can and may be used to satisfy some of the requirements.
